Max SkillFirst Limited (MSF) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Max India. Founded on the vision of improving professional skilling solutions in the sales & service sector, it is one of India’s most admired Learning and Development organisation. It employs more than 350 professionals and over 1,000 freelance trainers.

FY 2018 Highlights

In FY 2018, Max Skill First (MSF) imparted over 4.3 lakh training hours to more than 1 lakh learners through 90,000+ sessions. During the fiscal, MSF reported revenues of ₹ 44.9 crore with profits of ₹ 1.9 crore.

Content as Business Driver

Max Skill First has developed over 900 hours of quality learning content across all disciplines (as outlined below) by using the best in skills instructional design principles.

Max Life: Customised animated, game-based, device agnostic content designed for use by Sales and Recruitment skill builders for Agency, Insurance Marketing Firm (IMF) and Customer Advisory Team (CAT) channels.

Max Bupa: Channel agnostic content on specialised health products such as Health Companion, Health Assurance and HeartBeat.

Max Healthcare: Interactive content for mobile-based Max@Home application customised video based content for frequently recurring scenarios for nursing, front office and pharmacy.

MSF’s accomplishments in this area received industry-wide recognition this year. The company won the Brandon Hall Excellence Awards 2017 - Gold second year in a row for the ‘Best Use of Video for Learning’ for training videos created for Nursing and Front office for induction. MSF was also recognised for its distinctive efforts with three National Awards conferred by World HRD Congress in 2017.

TECHNOLOGY

In FY 2018, MSF mobile/tablet based app was launched for Executive Council agents and IMF channel of Max Life. At Max Bupa, MSF launched product training videos and conducted online product knowledge assessment through a designed MSF app. These innovations earned MSF the Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards 2017 - Silver for ‘Best Use of Mobile Learning’ and ‘Best Advance in Compliance Training’.

PEOPLE FIRST CULTURE

To strengthen the People First culture, MSF has introduced “Value-Based Hiring” to improve the quality of trainers employed. The Company introduced a structured 30-day on-boarding training programme and a common induction programme, Parichay. More than 135 employees have been hired in FY 2018 representing 42% of the current workforce across industries. MSF has launched mobile app based internal recognition system for value recognition of employees and rewarding them for exhibiting organisational values in their professional lives.

NEW TRAINING INITIATIVES - CAPTIVE

In FY 2018, dedicated training programmes undertaken include:

  • CAT channel training - a structured training roadmap was implemented.
  • Pragati - learning roadmap for clinicians of Max Healthcare was introduced to train them on behavioural skills.
  • Aarohan - Sales leadership development programme’ was designed for Bank of Baroda, Direct sales, Telesales and Renewal channels.

NEW GROWTH INITIATIVES

Max Skill First has also moved from captive to non-captive in BFSI segment and has started customised training for leading companies in the financial services segment.

The first of its kind direct-to-customer training facility of MSF for Allied Healthcare Professional education was launched in FY 2018 at Vaishali, Ghaziabad. An encouraging enrolment of 100% was achieved during this year. MSF has also to its credit India’s first 3D classroom at Vaishali centre for Allied Healthcare Diploma courses.

OUTLOOK

Max Skill First is preparing itself to grow through different channels. As B2B training market has huge scope for training requirement and is the most lucrative segment, MSF is gearing up its potential to further expand its existing B2B training business.

Demand for Allied Healthcare professionals in the Healthcare industry is estimated to be 1.9 million. With the launch of the first medical training centre, MSF is laying the groundwork for setting up more such centres in FY 2019.
